Mrs. Ayers attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Learning with a concentration in K-4 and extended her certification to include grades 5-8.  In 2001, she completed her Master's of Arts in Education K-12 at Tusculum College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She went back to college again in 2007 where she worked at Tennessee Technological University on her Educational Specialist's degree with an emphasis in School Leadership.  All together, she has spent 20 years in school.


Mrs. Ayers began teaching in 1995.   She was a lead teacher at both Howard Elementary and Hardy Elementary and has served as grade-level chairperson for 12 years.  She was also a full time reading interventionist and served grades 1-5 in the area of literacy.  Mrs. Ayers has taught in a multi-age 1st through 3rd setting, and taught both first and fourth grades.  The majority of her career has been spent in second grade where she has spent 11 years.


Mrs. Ayers is married to her husband, Matt, and has 2 children.  She also has 4 cats--2 outdoor cats, Tigger and Abby,  that were adopted after they were abandoned after tornadoes hit the area.  She also has 2 indoor cats, Isabella and a tabby named Teddy .
